Irises ☷ Van Gogh ☶ Art Print
Irises (1889) by Vincent van Gogh depicts vibrant blooming irises with lush green leaves, red-orange earth, and yellow flowers in the background. He painted several variations of irises during his stay at the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum, working from nature in the hospital garden. Influenced by Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock prints, the cropped composition uses dominant areas of color, focusing on foreground detail and diagonal lines to create texture and movement. Félix Fénéon, a French art critic, wrote in September 1889, "Irises violently slash into long strips their violet petals on sword-like leaves."

Art prints are created from a giclée print on archival heavyweight paper that can be mounted in a frame. Different paper finishes allow you to customize the appearance: smooth paper maintains detail and color; textured paper slightly softens color with a traditional paper finish; and resin coated paper slightly deepens color adding a semi-gloss finish. Framed prints do not come with protective glass / glazing, to showcase the paper and reduce light reflection (it is available upon request).
Giclée printed with aqueous pigment inks to resist fading for over 100 years
