Landscape in the South ☶ Modigliani ☷ Art Print
Landscape in the South (1919, Paysage dans le Midi) by Amedeo Modigliani depicts a landscape in southeastern France. Modigliani left Paris in early 1918, part of a mass exodus to the countryside at a time of increased danger to the city during World War I. Part of a group that included his dealer Léopold Zborowski and his young lover Jeanne Hébuterne, among several others, who fled to Haut-de-Cagnes, Côte d’Azur, Modigliani stayed behind for almost a year. During this time he developed a more colorful palette and began to explore landscape subjects focused on views of Haut-de-Cagnes and its surroundings. This painting depicts a vast expanse of foliage and vegetation common in the South, with cypress trees and golden-hued buildings with red roof tiles.

Art prints are created from a giclée print on archival heavyweight paper that can be mounted in a frame. Different paper finishes allow you to customize the appearance: smooth paper maintains detail and color; textured paper slightly softens color with a traditional paper finish; and resin coated paper slightly deepens color adding a semi-gloss finish. Framed prints do not come with protective glass / glazing, to showcase the paper and reduce light reflection (it is available upon request).
Giclée printed with aqueous pigment inks to resist fading for over 100 years
