The Golden Horn, Constantinople ☰ Signac ☲ Art Print
The Golden Horn, Constantinople (1907, La Corne d'Or, Constantinople) by Paul Signac depicts the Golden Horn, the inlet that historically separated Constantinople (present day Istanbul) and kept the peninsula strategically safe from invaders. The harbor is filled with boats, and skyline filled with ships masts, the domes of the New Mosque, the Beyazit Tower, and minarets. Signac's Neo-Impressionist work is often divided into two key periods: those during the lifetime of his friend, Georges Seurat, characterized by the dots and structure of pointillism; and the later pictures, more abstract, comprised of a mosaic of brushstrokes in various colors in order to convey a visual intensity and sense of motion.

Art prints are created from a giclée print on archival heavyweight paper that can be mounted in a frame. Different paper finishes allow you to customize the appearance: smooth paper maintains detail and color; textured paper slightly softens color with a traditional paper finish; and resin coated paper slightly deepens color adding a semi-gloss finish. Framed prints do not come with protective glass / glazing, to showcase the paper and reduce light reflection (it is available upon request).
